The Food Compatibility Hair Test helps to identify foods and products that may be causing inflammation and aggravating symptoms.

From a tiny hair sample over 600 foods and products are tested for compatibility. This non-invasive test is great for babies, kids and adults and gives you a personalised eating plan based on your unique cellular chemistry.

About

The Food Compatibility Testing has been developed by naturopaths after 30 years worth of work and research. It is Australian-owned and operated and is so successful it now services over 20 countries across the world.

Every cell in the body relies on electrical stimulation for proper cellular function. Assimilation (taking nutrition into the cell) plus elimination and secretions at cellular level, rely on electrical stimulation.

We simply cannot get nutrition in and waste secretions out of the cells without the correct electrical charge within the cell/cell membranes.

Foods contain their own electrical systems as well. These electrical systems in the food can sometimes interfere with the electrical systems within cells. The result is poor cellular function.

By removing these reactive and aggravating foods, we allow the cells to repair and function normally.

The Food Compatibility Test is especially useful for young children and babies where it can quickly identify problematic foods. Where an elimination diet (for example eliminating dairy) is not practical, this test can help to identify exactly what foods have a positive or negative influence for you as an individual.

Pricing 

The cost of the test includes:

• over 600 foods and products tested for compatibility
• a telehealth consultation with our naturopath for up to 30 minutes to review your results and how to implement
• results returned via email within 10 working days (in most instances) of receipt of hair sample at the laboratory
• a comprehensive compatibility report (sample below)

Note – if testing for a baby and the baby is breastfed a sample of both mum and bub’s hair is required

Postage of your hair sample to our clinic or directly to the laboratory is at your own expense.

A baby test is also available (Australia only) which includes the 600 foods & products in addition to a baby list of formula, baby foods and other related baby products. If you are interested in this test please contact us.

What Food and Products are Included?

The test is comprehensive – there is a huge range of foods are tested, for example there are 28 different species of tomatoes raw and cooked tested under the item tomato.

Please note if you live outside of Australia food tests specific for your location may be available. For example, there are specific food tests for Asian countries, the UK, the USA, Dubai, New Zealand and Poland. Please contact us for further information.

What Support is Included?

Receive naturopathic support for one month to ensure success on the program. Support is in the form of:

• a FREE telehealth consultation (up to 30 minutes) with the naturopath to review your results and provide guidance on implementation
• two weeks of email/chat support after the consult; and
• at the end of the first month the naturopath will contact you via email to specifically review progress on the compatibility diet. Should you wish for additional support after this time please book a follow up appointment.

The Hair Sample

This test uses a small piece of hair (approximately 1/2 tsp) cut from the nape of the neck. It can be from one piece, or made up of multiple smaller pieces. It does not matter if the hair is dyed or treated. Please ensure the hair sample is clean (washed in the last 48 hours) and placed into a clean ziplock bag. Please note only one person’s hair must go into one zip lock bag. Please ensure the zip locked bag is labelled with the correct person’s name. If the test is for a breastfed baby, mum’s hair sample should go into one bag and babies into another, with each bag labelled.

The test can also use facial or arm/leg hair if head hair is not available.

Usually the test can use saliva however due to Covid this option is not currently available. If you would like to test a baby that has no head hair please contact us to discuss.

What Country is the Test Applicable For?

This test is for those in Australia as it tests for foods common in Australia.

There are food tests specific for other countries. For example, there are specific food tests for Asian countries, the UK, the USA, Dubai, New Zealand and Poland. Please contact us for further information and pricing.

If you wish to include the baby test, the baby list is for foods and products in Australia only.

How to Use and Interpret the Test Results

The test reveals the foods and products that have a positive or negative influence on you as an individual.

During the free telehealth appointment with the naturopath you will be given a progress report that you may wish to follow for at least the first 4 weeks of eating according to the compatibility report.

It is recommended that you should consume and use the products that are compatible for your body for a period of 6 months. You may wish to support the healing of your condition during this time via either naturopathic support or any other healing modality you prefer.

It is recommended you retest at the end of 6-9 months to see changes to compatible/incompatible items and at this time you may wish to begin to introduce some of the foods that are no longer incompatible.

This test is run by an external company therefore we regret to inform we are unable to offer discounts.

It is only where a test is for a baby and the baby is breastfed that both mum and bub are tested together for a single cost.

Is this Allergy or Intolerance Testing?

THIS TEST IS NOT ALLERGY TESTING. This is a compatibly test which tests for food and products that are compatible or incompatible with the individual. Compatibility can be likened to food intolerance or sensitivity elimination diets however with the compatibility test the food has been identified as incompatible for the individual, rather than being suspected as been reactive.

If you expect an allergy, which produces an quick and extreme reaction, it is best you obtain a skin prick test through your GP. Allergy results can be combined with the result of the food compatibility test to provide a comprehensive overview.
