I created this video for a psychology assessment after undertaking gradual exposure for my daughter’s fear of the dark.

Gradual exposure, a behavioural modification procedure used by psychologists, offers hope to parents unsure how to help their child overcome their fear of the dark. Researched and used to treat phobias, gradual exposure involves slowly and gradually exposing your child to their fears, starting with the least scary fear and progressing up a fear hierarchy to their most scary fear.

Watch the video to learn how you can successfully use gradual exposure to help your child overcome their fear of the dark. Through gradual exposure they’ll gain confidence and understanding that there are many things in life that will scare us. True courage is doing it scared.
