Unfortunately, there are no guarantees in life and I would feel dishonest if I said that every person or family reaches their ideal sleep.

What I am certain of is:

  • I’ve been in your shoes and genuinely want to help. This means I will provide you with as much sleep education that pertains to your unique situation as I can. If necessary, I will conduct extra research and where you approve it, seek input from my network of health professionals in an effort to help you.
  • I’ll also try to be upfront if there’s anything likely to affect your progress.
  • For outcomes to be seen it also requires that you experiment with things I suggest, usually for a period of time.
  • If I can’t help you (this is rare) I will try to find someone that can.
  • To date most people I’ve worked with have tried out different things prior to seeing me without seeing the success they were wanting or they found a misalignment with the advice and their values. After working with me they’ve all improved their sleep without comprising on their values.

Everyone’s sleep story is unique. We go at your or your baby/child’s pace, often making small changes bit by bit. Best practice in psychology is small gradual changes. This is best for producing lasting results, both short and long-term.

In addition, tweaks to restore circadian health can take 7-14 days to see a result and depend on consistency.

That all being said, most people or families start to see an improvement in sleep within 10-14 days.

Book in as often as you need! After your initial consult book a follow up appointment.

Every little one is unique and will respond different to any tweaks we make around sleep. We’ll work together to adjust any recommended changes based on your little one’s response, for example either going slower or trying something else. We can’t guarantee they won’t cry, however if they do cry meeting them with responsive care is encouraged.

We don’t recommend cry-it-out or controlled crying (crying ignored for brief or lengthy periods of time). We recommend always responding to your little one’s communication.

During an initial consultation we’ll discuss your sleep challenge and sleep and health history. We will discuss the biology of sleep (aka sleep science) and potential underlying causes of the sleep challenge, and I’ll make some sleep suggestions. Based on our discussion a tailored sleep plan will be created. In the sleep plan I try to provide a number of different options to experiment with based on the latest research, and encourage you to implement the suggestions that resonate.

If you have any additional consultations we will evaluate progress and make any necessary tweaks to the sleep plan.

Within 48 hours after any consult I’ll send through the sleep plan which includes notes of our discussion in dot points, along with sleep suggestions to experiment with.

Included in your consult is two weeks of email support to help you implement the sleep plan. During these two weeks you can ask any questions you may have regarding the recommendations in the sleep plan, and receive an answer by email within 48 hours.

At the end of our time together I hope to leave you feeling reassured, informed, hopeful and confident, as well as on your way to sleeping better!

If you have purchased the Sleep SOS Consult and your children are from the same multiple birth we can try to address both their challenges during the appointment however whether we can achieve this will depend on the nature of the challenges and whether we have sufficient time. It is up to the discretion of the naturopath as to whether or not both challenges can be discussed, and you may be asked to book a follow up SOS consult to ensure both challenges can be appropriately addressed.

For children from different pregnancies they have their own sleep and health history and the recommended sleep suggestions will be different for each child, so they’d each need their own consultation.

Consultations are conducted online within the Simple Clinic platform. This is an Australian complying with all of Australia’s privacy requirements.

Upon booking and payment you’ll receive an email with a link to click on at the time of your appointment. Clicking the link will launch the video call.

Please be aware of time-zone differences. I am in the timezone AEST (Brisbane).

I don’t provide home visits to help families and individuals with their sleep and sleep environment set-up as I don’t believe it instills the confidence and provides the knowledge needed to handle any sleep challnege.

I believe in empowering individuals with the tools needed to meet any sleep challenge confidently. You are contacting me regarding a sleep challenge here and now, however, no one sleeps perfectly all the time and everyone, whether that be yourself or your child, will likely present with other sleep challenges in the future. In working with me we’ll create not just a sleep plan, but also a sleep profile of your child’s or your unique sleep needs. You’ll also gain an understanding of the biology of sleep, nutrition and the best environment for a good sleep. All of this will equip you with what you need to confidently handle any sleep challenge whenever and whenever it may present.

  • I offer FAIR pricing. You’ll see my prices are substantially cheaper than many other sleep coaches. This is because for ethical reasons I cannot charge more than what a psychologist does. I am currently studying towards becoming a registered psychologist – it is a hard long slog of many years, and yet many psychologists do NOT charge the exorbitant prices that sleep coaches with minimal training do.
  • I am a member of the Complementary Medicine Association and am also bound by their pricing requirements. They do not endorse overpricing.
  • Prices are provided on the appointment booking page.
  • All prices are Australian dollars (AUD) and are for all ages the service is for.
  • Prices do not include medicine. Any medicine prescribed is at an additional cost.

Concession card holders (valid Australian government health care card or pensioner card holders) are provided a discount on consultation fees and supplements. Prior to making an appointment please email through a copy of your card and request details of the discount and how to book and pay.

Some natural medicines may be sent directly from the clinic, however, the majority will be via vital.ly, Oborne Health or Ariya Health, suppliers of practitioner supplements, or directly from the manufacturer such as Metagenics Australia. Should you require natural supplements I will set you up in the patient order system of one of the suppliers so that you can order directly through them as and when you need, or I will invoice you and once paid will have the supplier drop ship to you. The process followed will depend on the supplier used. When deciding the supplier to use I consider their location to determine how quickly you’ll receive the products, and stock levels. Please note approval will be requested to utilise a supplier to drop ship you the product. You may be added to the suppliers email list. Should you wish you may unsubscribe from their email newsletters at any time.

If liquid herbal medicines are prescribed I will send a formulation through to either Ariya Health or Herbal Medicine Online who will dispense and mail out to you.

Shipping for all supplements is at an additional cost.

Please note that while I think that in some circumstances supplements (including herbal medicines and homeopathics) are necessary, generally you won’t leave the consult with a large number of supplements. I am an advocate for lifestyle medicine, working together with you to address such areas as inadequate sleep, physical inactivity and poor diet and nutrition.

I believe communication and connection is important for the healing process. If you have any questions or there are changes to your health between consultations please do not hesitate to email, you do not need to wait until your next consult. Please note I request email correspondence only as this allows it to be easily recorded in your case file. There is no charge for this service. I endeavour to reply to emails within 24-48 hours during week days; I rarely respond to emails on weekends.

Payment for the consultation is required at the time of booking. Payment may be made online via Stripe with a debit or credit card. Any supplements prescribed will need to be paid upon invoice receipt. Naturopathy and sleep consultations are not claimable from health funds. In addition, medicines generally are not claimable from health funds.

You may be able to claim all or some of the consultation fee and treatment through NDIS. Those self-managing their funds typically find it easier to claim. Please discuss with your provider prior to booking an appointment.
